- Conduct routine sampling in accordance with standard procedures to ensure production is maintained and COMPANY products meet Company standards. Record and report test results utilizing the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Reports to Shift Chemist.
- Internal: Regular contact with various contacts within Laboratory Division. Occasional contact with Area Operator and Panel Operator.
- External: No external contacts.
- Role is concerned with performing routine laboratory functions with a high-volume of requests for testing and analysis.
- Performing non-routine laboratory analysis when required.
- Perform tests using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments to ensure delivery of accurate and on-time results.
- Interpret test data according to standard testing methods and instructions to produce reliable and precise data to support company requirements.
- Collect, receive, and process samples as necessary to facilitate delivery of on-time, accurate test results.
- Understand chemical and sample handling procedures and prepare equipment, materials, and samples to make the laboratory ready for testing.
- Calculate test results and log/report using the LIMS.
- Operate laboratory equipment and instruments and assist with performance of quality control and calibration if necessary.
- Understand company safety policies and procedures, contribute to safety programs, and ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with approved procedures.
- Under close supervision, conduct quality control surveys of testing methods, laboratory equipment, and control techniques to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
- Bachelor's degree, followed by 2 years of formal trade training.
- 3 years of direct relevant experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, chemical and sample handling protocols, and data analysis.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Computer skills, including MS Office Suite and other relevant programs.
- Report writing and analytical skills.
