We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Technician to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial HVAC and water systems, including chillers, air coolers, pumps, and associated equipment. The role ensures reliable performance, safety, and compliance with Qatar regulations and company quality standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or a related discipline
• 3 5 years of hands-on experience with chillers, pumps, air coolers, and cooling systems
• Strong knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, refrigeration cycle, hydraulics, and piping
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and O&M manuals
• Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Valid GCC/Qatar driving license preferred (optional)

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test chillers, water pumps, air coolers, and related piping, valves, and controls
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and condition monitoring (vibration, temperature, pressure, flow)
• Diagnose faults, perform corrective repairs, and restore systems to design performance
• Calibrate and replace sensors, gauges, bearings, seals, belts, and filters
• Perform electrical mechanical checks on motors, starters, and VFDs within competency and safety limits
• Maintain water treatment for closed/open loops; monitor chemical dosing and water quality
• Ensure energy-efficient operation; log performance data and recommend improvements
• Comply with safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and company quality standards
• Prepare service reports, spare parts lists, and maintenance records in CMMS
• Coordinate with supervisors, vendors, and cross-functional teams during shutdowns and upgrades
• Support site audits, inspections, and compliance with Qatar regulations

Technical Skills

• Chiller systems: air- and water-cooled, compressors (screw, scroll), condensers, evaporators
• Pumps: centrifugal selection, alignment, priming, cavitation troubleshooting
• HVAC equipment: cooling towers, AHUs/FCUs, air coolers, heat exchangers
• Basics of BMS/controls, thermostats, pressure/temperature transmitters
• Mechanical alignment (laser/dial), lubrication, shaft coupling, bearing replacement
• Brazing/pipefitting, gasket and seal replacement, leak detection
• Reading electrical SLDs at a basic level; safe multimeter usage

Performance Indicators

• Planned vs. unplanned downtime
• First-time fix rate and response time
• Adherence to PM schedules and CMMS data accuracy
• Safety metrics: zero LTI, permit compliance
• Energy efficiency and system KPI improvements (COP, delta-T, pump efficiency)

Work Conditions

• On-site role; shift work and overtime may be required
• Field work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor environments
