We are a new Qatari-owned optical practice seeking an experienced dispensing optician to lead dispensing services in a paediatric-focused setting. This is a senior appointment with genuine scope. You will hold responsibility for dispensing standards, protocols and audit, and work closely with referring ophthalmologists and optometrists across Doha.
Responsibilities:Dispensing prescription eyewear to children across all age groups, from infants to teenagers, on prescriptions issued by referring practitioners Prescription validation and query resolution with the prescribing practitioner Precision measurement and centration on paediatric patients, including monocular PD, vertical centration, vertex distance and pantoscopic angle Frame selection and fitting for small faces and non-typical facial anatomy, including low-bridge, special-needs and infant fittings Dispensing specialist and myopia control lenses as prescribed, to the accuracy those designs require Verification of all incoming laboratory work against prescription before collection Laboratory liaison, quality management and turnaround performance Clinical liaison and written reporting to referring practitioners Developing dispensing protocols, standards and audit processes Supervising and mentoring dispensing and support staff
Requirements:Recognised dispensing optician qualification from an accredited programme Minimum two years' post-qualification experience Eligible for, or holding, a Qatar DHP (QCHP) dispensing optician licence Demonstrated competence dispensing to and fitting young children Experience with complex prescriptions - high-power, high-index, aphakic and anisometropic Experience dispensing myopia control lens designs Paediatric or hospital dispensing background Arabic (preferred) and English
