We are seeking a highly experienced Wastewater Operations Advisor / Drainage Advisor to join a prestigious long-term infrastructure project in Qatar. This is a strategic advisory role for a senior professional with extensive experience in drainage and wastewater operations, asset management, and infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities Provide expert technical, strategic, and operational advice on drainage and wastewater systems. Support the development and implementation of strategies to enhance operational performance, asset reliability, and service delivery. Advise on operations & maintenance (O&M), asset management, contract management, and project delivery across drainage and wastewater infrastructure. Review operational processes and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and business performance. Support business transformation initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational practices. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, health & safety standards, quality assurance requirements, and industry best practices. Provide guidance on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance related to drainage operations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project and operational outcomes. Evaluate operational and maintenance performance, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Support long-term planning, infrastructure sustainability, and asset lifecycle management initiatives. Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and operational standards to improve organizational effectiveness.
Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline. Degree must be obtained from North America, Western Europe, or Australia. Minimum 30 years of professional engineering experience. Minimum 10 years of experience within the wastewater/drainage industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environment.
Strong expertise in:Drainage and wastewater operations Asset Management Operations & Maintenance Project Management Contract Management Infrastructure planning and performance improvement
Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control procedures. Experience working within large, multidisciplinary organizations or utility/infrastructure environments. Previous experience in the Middle East/GCC is highly preferred. Chartered Engineer status and/or Institute of Asset Management (IAM) accreditation is considered a strong advantage.
