Roles & Responsibilities

Department: TRANSPORT & TRADING Reporting To: Workshop Manager / Division Manager Job Purpose: To independently diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain multi-brand heavy commercial vehicles using advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic diagnostic systems. The role ensures high vehicle uptime, first-time repair accuracy, and compliance with OEM and workshop standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM and multi-brand laptop-based diagnostic tools. Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults. Carry out engine, gearbox, differential, and clutch overhauls independently. Maintain and repair hydraulic systems including braking, steering, and auxiliary systems. Interpret wiring diagrams, fault codes, and technical service manuals. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for fleet operations. Support breakdown and roadside assistance operations when required. Ensure accurate documentation of all repair work and job cards. Maintain strict adherence to safety and workshop standards. Mentor junior technicians and support technical development within the team.  Requirements Required Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills (Mandatory): Laptop-based diagnostics (OEM scanners / multi-brand diagnostic tools) Heavy vehicle electrical systems troubleshooting (ECU, sensors, CAN systems) Diesel engine overhaul and repair Transmission and driveline systems repair Hydraulic system diagnostics and repair Multi-Brand Experience (Mandatory): Mercedes-Benz / Actros (essential) Mitsubishi Fuso Ashok Leyland Tata Heavy Commercial Vehicles Eicher (additional advantage) Experience Requirements: 6 years in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance Minimum 3 years in independent/senior technician role Proven experience in multi-brand workshop environments GCC experience preferred Education: Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering preferred ITI with strong experience acceptable for technician-level roles Behavioral Competencies: Strong diagnostic thinking and fault isolation capability Integrity in self-assessment of technical capability Ability to work under pressure in breakdown scenarios Team collaboration and mentoring mindset Discipline in safety and quality compliance Disqualification Criteria: No diagnostic tool/laptop experience Single-brand experience only No exposure to European heavy trucks (e.g., Mercedes-Benz) Non-automotive electrical background Inability to perform independent major repairs Misrepresentation of skills during interview Benefits Competitive salary package Career growth opportunities Exposure to advanced automotive technologies Accommodation facility
