Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities;
• Ensure a tidy workplace in the Chemistry Lab
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating, troubleshooting, and interpreting results from advanced
analytical instruments, GC (Gas Chromatography), GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass
Spectrometry), ICP-OES / ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma), TOC (Total Organic Carbon
Analyzer)
• Proficient in water and soil testing, with strong skills in data interpretation and result accuracy.
• Familiar with quality system requirements, including method validation, calibration, traceability,
uncertainty estimation, and technical documentation.
• Maintains a list of inventory of the equipment of the Chemistry Department and ensures good
working conditions and adequate space allocation for this equipment.
• Check the test report and assist in the preparation of the reports
• Analyze chemical compounds or substances.
• Conduct quality control tests on construction materials.
• Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when
needed.
• Supervise chemical lab technicians and train them on different tests as per the standards
• Resolve issues involving other departments as they relate to the Chemistry Lab
• Prepare test solutions, compounds, or reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
• Evaluate laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make improvements
as needed.
• Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental chemical analysis laboratories.
• Experience with Shimadzu analytical instruments
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling procedures.
• Strong knowledge of USEPA, ASTM, ISO, and APHA analytical methods.

• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, LIMS is a plus)
