EGA's MYP Science Teacher plays a key role in fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning. The teacher delivers engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework, emphasizing real-world applications of science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Teach MYP Science, covering physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science, using an inquiry-based approach.
- Conceptual Understanding: Develop students' investigative and analytical skills through hands-on experiments, projects, and real-life applications.
- Interdisciplinary Learning: Integrate science concepts with other subjects, emphasizing the global context of scientific discoveries.
- Assessment & Feedback: Use MYP formative and summative assessments, including criterion-based grading, to track student progress.
- Technology Integration: Incorporate digital tools, simulations, and scientific technology to enhance learning.
- Student Engagement: Promote independent research, STEM innovation, and scientific thinking in the classroom.
- Safeguarding & Well-being: Ensure student safety, particularly in laboratory settings, and adhere to school safeguarding policies.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on IB methodologies and advancements in science education.
