Job Summary
The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. The role involves working with a wide range of electrical, mechanical, gas, and refrigeration-based kitchen appliances.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, fryers, grills, steamers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, and food preparation equipment.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, gas, and refrigeration faults and perform corrective maintenance.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and servicing according to established schedules.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
Replace defective parts and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Test equipment after repairs to verify proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for specialized repairs and spare parts procurement.
Provide technical support and guidance to kitchen staff on proper equipment operation and care.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of electrical systems, gas appliances, refrigeration systems, and mechanical equipment.
