The successful candidate will help in developing functional textures to absorb water from the ambient and release for water harvesting and humidity control purposes which will be adaptable to greenhouse farming in Qatar. In particular, the potential candidate will support the research toward the development of functional technologies to study aspects of green approaches for water and food security and natural resource sustainability in the context of Qatar food security and sustainability needs. The incumbent will perform tests using a variety of modern field and laboratory equipment for Chemical synthesis, Nanofiber and Nanocomposites structures manufacturing, Using Green chemistry approaches and greenhouse cooling systems, Structural analysis and Specifications, calibrating and maintaining instrumentation and preparing and processing samples for analysis, manuscript writing and preparing project reports and presentations. The successful candidates will interact with researchers with respect to the related projects.

Qualifications
The candidates must have a PhD in Textile Engineering from a renowned university. The potential candidates should have a demonstrated record of excellence in research. The candidate should have a solid background and pieces of experience in Green Chemistry, Textile Chemistry and Nanotexture formation methods and also a hand on engineering techniques for large scale production plants and cooling system managements as well as the statistical analysis of data and models. The candidates should have experience with the operation of the laboratory and industrial equipment (including SEM, FTIR, XRD, moisture sensors, Electro-spinning machine, air and water permeability testers and other Textile physical and Chemical Testing equipment). Accepted level of Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Preferable research experiences
- Significant experience in Textile Chemistry and Fiber Science
- A good publication record of the position-related papers published in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work effectively as a part of a multi-disciplinary research team, and to carry out independent individual research to meet project goals
- Advanced written and oral communication skills
- Experiences in scientific writing for preparation of scientific papers for publication and presentations for meetings and/or conferences
- Outstanding hands-on skills, strong statistical and analytical skills
- Nanostructure formations, sampling and analysis
- Textile sampling and testing
- Efficient Time management skills
- Experience in working with teams of engineers in industrial scale projects
