Senior Manager Aviation Business Development

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and regularly update the aviation development strategy to keep it in line with the business strategy.
  • Ensure that connectivity and traffic volumes increase in line with Qatar’s 2030 tourism strategy.
  • Ensure that Aeronautical revenues for HIA are maximised in accordance with HIA business strategy.
  • Manage preparation of aeronautical revenue budgets/forecasts to support HIA business plan and strategy.
  • Develop Aeronautical pricing (charges) incentive policy, recommend to Executive Management for approval.
  • Build a supportive relationship with key stakeholders (Qatar Tourism Authority, QCAA, QAS, etc.) to ensure that strategy goals are met.
  • Manage airline business development for HIA with a view of utilizing Airport capacity by attracting new airlines and route expansion of existing airlines as per the approved business strategy.
  • Identify network gaps/opportunities and prepare business case for potential airlines.
  • Setup and recommend revenue plans by reviewing financial, traffic and other related assumptions to ascertain profitability for HIA and present findings and recommendations to Executive Management.
  • Recommend revision in regulated aeronautical tariff to Executive Management considering cost of service, asset utilization, benchmarking in compliance with QCAA rules and to oversee and ensure its implementation is in line with IATA rules & regulations.
  • Ensure revenue arrangements with airlines covering all aeronautical revenues and ancillary service charges are in accordance with the applicable QCAA and ICAO rules.
  • Manage overall process of stakeholder's consultation with relevant QR Group and Subsidiaries on proposed aeronautical Pricing/Incentive policy and recommend final policy to Executive Management for approval.
  • Setup commercial arrangement for Aero-related services with QR Group and Subsidiaries or any other service provider.
  • Review business plans and carry out financial checks, in order to setup and recommend optimal commercial terms for Executive Management for approval.
  • Track business develop progress and update the risk and opportunity tracker.
  • Monitor the performance of existing carriers/routes and devise support plans when needed.
  • Represent HIA at industry events/conferences such as the Routes conferences.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 10 years of job• related experience.
  • Aviation business development in a senior role at another airport/aviation.
  • Proven track record in setting up commercial terms and pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of handling Aeronautical Revenue Management at an Airport.
  • Knowledge of Aviation rules and Economic regulations (ICAO guidance on Airport Charges & other applicable guidelines.
  • Experience of Financial Modelling, Scenarios Building and review of Business Plans.
