Duties & Responsibilities, (include But Not Limited To)

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities in coordination with the Team.
  • Analyze project variations and changes to the design and/or construction work, prepare project reports, analyze information for adjustments to project budget as necessary to assure a successful project for the client and the firm.
  • Implement commercial/contractual matters within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Measure works on site and from drawings including competence with electronic measurement systems.
  • Analyze and interpret contract conditions
  • Understand, identify and assess project risks
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
  • Assist in establishing a requirement and undertake feasibility study.
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control.
  • Advise on a procurement strategy. Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
  • Value completed work and arrange payments to subcontractors.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and arbitration (Settlement of disputes)
  • Maintain awareness of the different contracts in current use.
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
  • Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
  • Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities when requested.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

  • Requirements Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering.
  • UPDA Certified with QS specialization - preferably Grade A.
  • Over 10 years of experience in similar field.
  • Experience in the preparation of estimates and Bills of Quantities for or Contract Administration of major civil, commercial, residential and industrial projects
  • Having Building and Consultancy Experience.
  • Holding Qatari Driving License
  • Locally available candidates on Transferable visa.
    • Should be able to join on a short notice

    Required Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of contracts, able to identify and rectify contract deviations or deficiencies.
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
  • Familiar with standard construction contract language, procedures, claims and variations, correspondence.
  • Knowledge of different methods of measurement and cost analysis.
  • Excellent computer skills, able to work with standard software programs i.e. Excel, Word, MS Project, Estimating specific software etc.,
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Possess excellent communication skill both Oral and Written.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • The ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
