Responsibilities:Our newest opportunity is for a talented Environmental Engineer, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.
We envisage success in this role to include;Providing environmental support and technical advice across beautification, landscaping, public realm and development projects. Preparing and reviewing environmental reports, policies, procedures, CEMP (Construction Environmental Management Plans), EMP (Environmental Management Plans), EIA (Environmental Impact Assessments) and other environmental documentation. Monitoring site implementation of environmental plans, regulations and approved requirements through regular site visits. Ensuring compliance with applicable environmental legislation, permits, policies and ISO 14001 requirements. Reviewing consultant and contractor environmental submissions and coordinating with clients's Quality & Safety Department (QSD) for required approvals. Monitoring and reporting environmental KPIs, including recycling and waste management performance. Identifying environmental risks, non-conformances and areas for improvement, and recommending appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Liaising with consultants, contractors, designers, QSD, the Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders on environmental matters, permits and approvals. Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental policies, procedures and management systems. Providing technical input in meetings, capturing lessons learned and supporting programme-wide environmental performance.

Qualifications:To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include:Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline from a recognised university listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED). Having more than 10 years of relevant professional experience following the required academic qualification. Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental engineering/management associated with large-scale beautification, landscaping, public realm, building, infrastructure or development programmes/projects. Demonstrating proven experience in developing, implementing and managing environmental standards and management systems in accordance with ISO 14001. Having a background or additional experience in Health & Safety / HSE, particularly within construction, landscaping or major development projects will be highly desirable. Holding ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification. Having strong experience in environmental compliance, CEMP/EMP review, environmental reporting, site monitoring, environmental impact assessments and implementation of environmental management requirements. Demonstrating excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
