The technician will install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and detection systems in marine and shore-based facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting system faults, performing preventive maintenance, documenting service activities, and preparing accurate reports. The role involves coordinating with supervisors, vessel crews, and other technical teams to schedule work, support audits and inspections, and respond to urgent service calls. The technician is expected to follow company safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and continuously update knowledge of fire alarm technologies and marine safety requirements. Qualifications Technical expertise in installing, commissioning, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and detection systems, preferably in marine or industrial environments. Strong skills in fault finding, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with control panels, detectors, notification devices, and related wiring. Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes, marine industry regulations, and international standards applicable to fire protection systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and safety documentation. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate work with internal teams, clients, and vessel personnel. Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, including adherence to company procedures, use of PPE, and participation in safety trainings. Relevant technical diploma or certification in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or fire protection systems; specialized fire alarm training is an advantage. Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role in marine, oil and gas, or industrial sectors is preferred. Ability to work on-site in Qatar, including flexibility to attend vessels, ports, and facilities as required. Basic computer skills for completing reports, maintaining service records, and using diagnostic tools or software.
