Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.

Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall IT management of the Resort (hotel, waterpark, and retail). A direct line manager for a team of IT team members.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support the implementation of the IT strategy, structure, budgets, people, and financial outcomes.
• Initiate and manage IT projects for the Resort and consult the key stakeholders in strategic IT matters concerning the Resort.
• Support the IT team to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation.
• Manage day-to-day operations in the Resort and implement Accor IT brand standards, new technologies, systems, and projects.
• Ensure new standards are implemented, projects are completed, and reports are submitted.
• Enforce IT standards and policies in the Resort, including user rights, backup policy, preventive maintenance, contingency planning, etc.
• Ensure compliance with the Accor IT brand standards, policies, guidelines, and audit requirements.
• Ensure that technical system documentation (SOPs) is available, up to date, and accessible.
• Manage / plan P&L, business plans, budget, and future technology investments.
• Review monthly P&L with the management.
• Maintain good relationships with Managing Director, HODs, users, guests, colleagues, vendors, and other business stakeholders.
• Liaise and communicate directly with the Regional IT team on a regular basis as required. This includes submitting monthly reports, complying with new standards, following up on new projects, etc.
• Ensure systems versions/patches are up to date.
• Respond to complex data security vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
• Assist with hardware configuration and application set up, training, and go live.
  

Your Experience And Skills Include

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or other relevant discipline
• 7+ years working in an IT environment at a senior level
• Experience in a pre-opening hotel and waterparks
• Demonstrated experience in managing IT budgets and project management.
• Experience in managing IT infrastructure across the property.
• A passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English, the local language is a plus
