Position Overview:
Avey is seeking a dynamic and experienced in-house Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in corporate law, with specific experience in the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) or health insurance sector. The in-house Counsel will play a pivotal role in providing legal guidance and support to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and facilitate strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents with clients, vendors, and partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal implications and provide guidance on business initiatives and strategies.
- Stay current with industry-specific regulations and legislation affecting TPAs and health insurance companies.
- Stay current with Qatar and US regulations and legislation affecting companies such as Avey.
- Advise on matters related to healthcare compliance, including HIPAA, ACA, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various legal issues impacting the company.
- Assist in managing and resolving disputes, including potential litigation matters.
- Stay informed about emerging legal trends and best practices in the healthcare industry.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 2-5 years of relevant legal experience, with a preference for experience in a TPA or health insurance company.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, healthcare regulations, and compliance matters.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
