Chief Structural Engineer - QAT004U Primary Location : Qatar Forecast requirements for structural resources and allocate those resources to various projects and work assignments. Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties. Job Specific Knowledge : Thorough knowledge of the applicable engineering design and construction structural codes, standards and best practices for offshore. Knowledge of civil/structural detailing and capability to develop construction friendly and economic connection and support details. Experience in life extension assessment projects will be an advantage. Industry Specific Experience : Extensive work experience as a Principal engineer within the Oil & Gas industry. Proven experience of leading a team of civil/structural discipline engineers and designers. Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the civil/structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams. IT Skills : Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training People Skills : Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required. Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams. Qualifications - Familiar with international standards such as AISC, API, ASTM, BS, etc. Sound grasp in offshore civil and structural analyses User of SACS and MS Office Suite of Software, STAAD Pro and MathCAd. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage Able to work in diverse team. Builds appropriate, constructive, and effective business relationships throughout the organization. Communicates clearly, accurately, and consistently both verbally and in written matters. Employs the principles of active listening and encourages feedback from others. Other : Demonstrates enthusiasm, persistence and tenacity.
