Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide extensive project management services for all key assignments, covering all aspects of project decommissioning scopes. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, in a safe manner and in accordance with decommissioning project requirements, specifications and standards.
- Assist Project Manager on all project activities.
- Responsible for leading and coordinating Project Teams formed to provide complete project management services to execute assigned decommissioning projects in onshore/offshore areas from inception to completion.
- Prepare and implement Project Execution and QHSE Plans for all assigned projects.
- Participate and monitor Planning, Cost Control, Budgeting, Contract Administration, Progress Reporting, Change Management and Gate Approval activities.
- Manage and coordinate a Team of multidiscipline Engineers to achieve cost-effective decommissioning plans through timely resolution of technical and engineering issues.
- Participate in the preparation of tender packages, tendering process, evaluation of tenders and submissions with appropriate recommendations to relevant Tender Committees.
- Generate, maintain and update risk registers in order to ensure that risks are managed and mitigated.
- Interface closely with End User and other stakeholders including government and statutory authorities, other third-party entities such as JVs.
- Participate in the processing and resolution of Variations and Contractor’s claims.
- Participate in the review and development of client procedures and guidelines as and when assigned.
- Mentor Qatari develop by ensuring that they receive proper job training in order to attain their full potential.
Skills
Qualification:
- B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognised University preferably with a Mechanical major; higher degree would be advantageous.
- Membership in a recognised professional engineering/project management association/institution along with a certificate from PMI or AMP will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in project engineering roles within the oil & gas industry preferably with an Operating Company or EPIC background.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in offshore oil & gas decommissioning projects or similar.
- Managing a project’s engineering and technical aspects. Experienced in engineering coordination with various disciplines during the development and safe execution of oil & gas decommissioning scopes.
- Experience of preparation of ITTs, design and follow up of offshore transportation, installation and decommissioning projects.
- Good knowledge of T&I and decommissioning of fixed platforms, pipelines, risers and subsea structures.
- Experienced on brownfield projects and familiarity with tie-in, shutdown and various interface requirements.
- Experienced in engineering coordination with various discipline engineers during the life cycle of projects.
- Hands-on experience with Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Effective communication and team building skills including presentation, report writing and management of meetings.
- Adaptable to overseas assignments with exposure to different cultures, backgrounds and environments.
