Job Summary

The Senior Logistics Officer coordinates the implementation of logistical functions in order to support the requirements of the organization.

Directs the shipment clearance and ensures effective and efficient monitoring/tracking of all inbound and outbound shipment at all times. 

Job Responsibilities 1

Manages logistics operations including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery across the organization.

Negotiates prices with logistic companies/shipping companies and freight forwarders to ensure availing the best market rate.

Responsible for arranging shipment arrangements for inbound and outbound.

Handles shipment clearances.

Develops reports on products/materials movements and various operational logistics issues.

Updates stakeholders (internal/external) on the status of their shipments in transit.

Develops logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and organization timelines for new operations.

Creates operational procedures and method statements.

Develops reports on material/products and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems.

Job Responsibilities 2

Develops and designs standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.

Complies with all applicable company directives, policies, and procedures.

Monitors the material movement to and from the workface does not cause damage to the works, the workforce or the public.

Ensures customers receives their products in a timely manner and good condition.

Communicates effectively with clients and responding to their requirements.

Coordinates and presents logistics support to ongoing operations.

Ensures to identify added logistic training requirements to attain high working standards.

Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Import documentation and export documentation.Knowledge of logistics (inbound/outbound) Operations.Good communication skills, with experience of communicating cross-culturally.Computer literate in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other related software.

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
